Button & Trixie is a small upcycled clothing studio based in Agoura Hills, California, where forgotten fabrics become one-of-a-kind garments — and every stitch tells a story.

Founded by Heidi Helfand, a lifelong maker and collector, Button & Trixie is focused on transforming denim and vintage quilts into everyday magic. Each piece is designed and sewn in our home studio (affectionately called Green Haven Cottage) with intention, imperfection, and plenty of thread.

We believe in slow fashion, second chances, and practical beauty. That means functional pockets, visible mending, and clothes that feel good to wear. Our designs are rooted in resourcefulness — not perfection — and we embrace the quirks, history, and handmade charm of every upcycled piece.

The brand is named after Heidi’s childhood cats — Button (a grey tuxedo) and Trixie (a calico adventurer) — in honor of the playful, loyal, and curious spirit that inspires every creation.
